        Erica is a class of about 860 types of blooming plants in the family Ericaceae. The English normal names "heath" and "heather" is share by some firmly related genera of comparative appearance. The family Calluna was in the past incorporated into Erica – it contrasts in having much littler scale-leaves (under 2–3 mm long), and the blossom corolla comprising of independent petals.
